Well its like you said Taint… Whenever you provide a quality animation whether for martial arts and storytelling then fall short and provide ordinary shiz after, it never feels the same. @Ken At this point boss I’ve given up the fight / anger or whatever I used to go through when animes / entertainment did not live up to the expectations of what it used to be 10-20 years ago. Its true a good studio is consistent but its more then just that you literally need the whole package. The studio, creator, animator, everyone / everything has to be quality people but that is hard to achieve as we can see with how little masterpieces there are just like Mortal journey to immortality or renegade immortality.
RMJI has some clunky moments too. I was not a fan of their fight scenes because of the way the fly and the way they drag the fight scenes. I believe the studio of Shrouding the Heavens and RMJI were the same because of the similarities of the way they fight. They changed that recently tho. But RMJI story telling is top notch, it’s like reading the book. But we all know that BTTH is the first one who innovated the fight scenes in the donghua world starting from the fight with Nalan Yanran. That’s when I saw the possibility that donghua can actually beat Japanese anime. BTTH is indeed falling short from these fight scenes lately. It’s because the power levels seems to be skewed. Bansheng is supposed to be the where most people stop leveling due to the huge power gap to be successful to cultivate into a Dou Sheng and yet here we are, Queen Medusa is only a Dou Zun and was able to survive against a Dou Sheng. They have downplayed a Dou Sheng hence the lackluster performance of Xiao Yan when he first became a Dou Sheng. The OP-ness was not there.
It doesnt need a good studio to produce a good show. It just need some dedicated team with basic common sense, passion and proper timeline to do their work. They should be able to rectify original source flaws and come out creativity on their own to make what they are working on better, just like how the studio of Jujutsu Kaisen added their own anime exclusive ontop or cut out certain parts in the manga to make the story flow better and eliminate flaws.
These donghua studios should use some basic common sense and not follow the novel or manghua blindly. Even if the author is dumb or thinks the audience are dumb, they shouldnt be idiots themselves like for eg. which usurper in history actually keeps the former Emperor alive and imprison for 100 years to let them have a chance to claim back their throne instead of killing them right off. And what kind of retard would desperately hold on to something when it is literally killing you.
From the way its going, its definitely not gonna rectify the major plothole in the novel thats coming at the end which would completely make this entire whole journey of Xiao Yan meaningless and stupid as fuk…which is after the villain finally managed to snatch, murder and stole all the components need to open the immortal’s house, he actually let everyone including Xiao Yan follow him into the house, like WTF??!!!
